About Cruise for the Kids

Savor the end of summer while supporting Children's Crisis Treatment Center (CcTC) at the 11th Annual Cruise for the Kids! The Cruise has become one of Philadelphia's must-attend events with more than 300 guests joining us last year, enjoying live reggae music and dancing, exclusive raffle drawings, and light fare and premium open bar. The 2010 Cruise raised more than $66,000 to support CcTC's programs and services, making it the most successful Cruise yet.

The Cruise was born of the Friends of CcTC in 2001 as a way to generate more funding for the agency while simultaneously gaining supporters at a fun event. The first Cruise took place in 2001 and was held at Rock Lobster. From there, it moved to Fairmount Waterworks in 2002, and then to the Hyatt Regency in 2003 and 2004. The Cruise returned to Waterworks in 2005 until moving to World Cafe Live for the next two years. In 2008 the Cruise was held at the Moshulu in Penn's Landing and has remained there ever since.

As the Cruise continues to grow, CcTC has been fortunate to have the involvement of many phenomenal individuals from Philadelphia and its surrounding communities who remain dedicated to CcTC.

Proceeds from the Cruise allow CcTC to continue providing high quality, comprehensive behavioral health services to Philadelphia's children and their families. These services address the effects of abuse, neglect, traumatic events, and other challenges to early childhood development and assist children in reaching their full potential within their homes, community, and society. Currently, CcTC serves over 1,200 children and their families and treats over 2,400 children throughout the year through its Center, School and Community-based programs.

Why does CcTC host such a large event every year?
